Vonnie Marie Walters

Vonnie Marie Walters, 84, of Taylor, Michigan, departed this life on Monday, March 25, 2019 at her daughters residence.

She was born November 12, 1934 in Vern, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Edward S. and Susie Douglas Walters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Frank Matuszewski Sr.; one brother, Doyle Terry Walters; grandparents, George Walters and Alice Mae McFarland, and Samuel Porter Douglas and Cynthia Jane Holt; and her father and mother-in-law, Zygmond Matuszewski and Genevieve Szczechowski.

Vonnie loved the outdoors. She enjoyed taking walks, feeding squirrels and enjoying flowers.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Toni Marie (Robert “Bob”) Meadows of Bob White, WV, and Christinea Matuszewski of Lincoln Park, MI; one son, Anthony Frank Matuszewski Jr. of Taylor, MI; one brother, Dayton Curtis Walters of Massilon, OH; four grandchildren, Robert Lee Meadows II, Mark Anthony (Jennifer) Meadows, Kevin Shane (Kim) Meadows, and Austin Anthony Matuszewski; eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Nick) Darnell, Gabby Green, Brady Green, JoAnna Green, Jordan Rose Meadows, Markie Meadows, Hannah Meadows, Gracie Meadows; two great-great-grandchildren, Liam Darnell and Joel Darnell.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Family Gardens, Madison, WV with Jessie Perdue officiating.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
