Thomas Franklin Richards

Thomas Franklin Richards, 81, of Verdunville, WV, departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Dignity Hospice House, Chapmanville, WV.

He was born January 1, 1938 in Henlawson, WV, a son of the late Edgar and Myrble Richards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny, Wallace, Ishmael and Clifford Richards, one sister, Mary Workman and two brothers-in-law, Alton Conley and Bo Workman.

Thomas enjoyed spending time outdoors, cutting grass and wood, looking for ginseng and loved playing with Brenda's great-grandsons.

Those left to cherish his memory include his companion and caretaker, Brenda Workman and her family, Irene Workman, Irma (Roger) Allen; granddaughter, Maranda Workman; great grandsons, Shade Workman, Keenan Workman and Drayven Young; sister, Gladys Conley; brother, Joe (Claire) Richards; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Glenn Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitt Family Cemetery, Upper Crawley Creek, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
