Stephen Baugh Barnes

Stephen Baugh Barnes, 70, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 4, 1948 in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Lindsey and Lela Barnes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Baugh Barnes, brother, Michael Barnes and his first wife, Teresa Barnes.

Stephen enjoyed entertaining, traveling, new technology, computers, software, reading, eating and working crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed spending time with his special friend Steve Minardi.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Catherine Hames-Barnes; two sons, Jason (Ellen) Barnes, and Justin (Heather) Barnes; one step daughter, Dorenda Sue Thomas; one brother, Donald James Barnes; and three grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary and Christopher Hames.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, with Dorenda Sue Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
