Earsel Lee Vance Jr

Earsel Lee Vance Jr, 48, of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the St. Vincent Hospital, Clanton, AL.

He was born July 1, 1968 in Chicago, IL a son of Earsel Vance Sr and Brenda G Vance of Dingess, WV.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Tony & Bertha Vance and Flem & Dixie Marcum, and four uncles, Lafe Ed Marcum, Flem Marcum Jr, Lonnie Vance and Dale Vance.

Earsel was a collector of lighters, hats, Nascar memorabilia and antiques. He enjoyed outdoors and fishing. Earsel had a special way of making others laugh and was very much a child at heart.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marlene Vance; his ex-wife, Michele Gillman; one daughter, Lindsey Jewell Vance; one son, Earsel Lee Vance III; one step-daughter, Britney M Bass; two step-sons, Zachery and Kevin Bass; one sister, Joyce (J.D.) Nelson; two grandchildren, Karson Brielle Vance and Raelie Faith Maynard; mother-in-law, Arietta Shepherd and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Trace Church of God, Dingess, WV with Bishop Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Buster Deskins & Flem Marcum Cemtery, Dingess, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6 pm – 9 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
