Clifford Jay Adkins

Clifford Jay Adkins, 60 of Chapmanville, WV departed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his residence.

He was born August 10, 1956 in Wise, VA a son of the late William “Bill” Adkins and Beulah V. Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Lula Adkins, and Erble & Clarcey Wheatley, one sister, Charlene Bryant, two nephews, Ronald Ray Adkins and Zachery Wade Bryant, and his father and mother-in-law, Melvin & Martha Tomblin.

Clifford enjoyed logging, trucking, and spending time with friends, family and grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Lois Rosetta Adkins of Chapmanville; one daughter, Kimberly (Paul) Thomas of Chapmanville; one son, Clifford (Elizabeth) Adkins of Chapmanville; two sisters, Marcella Rose of Logan and Wanda Adkins of Chapmanville; four brothers, Glenn (Tiny) Adkins, William Ray (Barbara) Adkins, Nathan Adkins all of Chapmanville and Arden Adkins of Ripley; three grandchildren, Jaylynn Rosetta Davidson, Carson Wayne Adkins and Tana K. Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Minister Dale Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Thomas, Clifford E. Adkins, Mike Beckett, Ray Fain, Roger Messenger and James Adkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
